Family Villa XL is designed by Sono architects and consists of three gabled volumes
Sono connected Architects gabled three volumes in this Slovenian home. XL Family Villa is located on the edge of a new residential area and is designed for a large family of seven. Area is dominated by the typical / Slovenian rural urban landscape, which is why the design paraphrase the typical architectural elements surrounding giving them a modern look. The house is conceptually formed of two parallel volumes between them and a connection volume, which is placed perpendicular to the other two, they are all dark with warm natural wood elements for contrast. All volumes are elongated with symmetrical gabled roofs, which are the most functional and cool look reminiscent of the houses of the past. The shortest volume is extended in a shed.
Floor plans are spacious and organized into three levels. Living area, closed with large windows opening to the atrium maintaining fluid communication between the inside of the house and the surrounding nature. The facade is composed of large panels, the volume of connection to lighter and the other two in darker colors. Larger glass surfaces are moved inwardly and combined with wood coating. Placed on them is a pattern of vertical narrow wooden components that work simultaneously so as sunscreens and they can also be used for privacy if the owners need some.
